Meet Your Sale's Owner
Emily (Bratcher) Berriochoa - - Fairbanks, Alaska
Emily (Bratcher) Berriochoa’s kids’ consignment sales bring hot deals to families in Fairbanks and Interior Alaska.
With her first sale in the fall of 2018, hosting these bi-annual events are a homecoming to Emily, her husband, Dan, and their twin boys.
“I was born and raised in Fairbanks,” she says. “And, it’s our great fortune and delight to bring the kids’ consignment sale concept here, which is uncharted territory when it comes to a business model like this.”
A military spouse since 2012, Emily first discovered kids' consignment sales in Washington state shortly after the birth of her twin boys. After that, Emily knew she wanted to share the same benefits with families in Interior Alaska.
“With Alaska's higher cost of living, I feel like these sales are a public service,” she says. “We bring families together - - sellers that want to get rid of their kids’ outgrown items and buyers that purchase those things at a great price. It’s a win-win, not only for the environment and the charities we support, but for everyone involved.”
For Emily, owning her Kid’s Closet Connection franchise is a way to reclaim her business-savvy self. Emily looks forward to applying her education, local connections, and years of retail experience in her family’s Fairbanks business to her own entrepreneurial endeavors.
“To own a business that works around my family and provides such a community benefit just fits with my parenting style and sense of civic duty,” she says. “It’s very empowering to be able to impart the lessons of hard work, community involvement and familial bonds to my boys through this business.
