Meet the Owner
Ken moved to the Valley four years ago and introduced the Phoenix area to Kid's Closet Connection in 2010. Prior to conducting his first sale, he worked at ten KCC sales over the last six years. His sister, Sharon Smitka, started the company in 2004 with a small sale in Lenexa, Kansas and has grown to one of the nation's largest consignment event - filling a 30,000 sq ft convention center in Overland Park. Ken has been there the whole time and has learned how to start-up, market and manage a successful sale.
Ken retired in 2009 from a large company in Kansas City and brings with him an abundance of excitement and innovative ideas. He is giving KCC his full attention and is always receptive to new ideas and suggestions. In his spare time, he likes to stay involved in community activities, is an avid hiker and loves exploring all that Arizona has to offer.
Ken brings over thirty years of marketing experience and is very knowledgeable of the challenges parents face in this difficult economy. He conducted eight events in 2010 and 2011 and was amazed of the tremendous response to Kid's Closet Connection. In 2012, he will oversee and manage a total of eight sales - spring and fall sales in Goodyear, North Glendale, Scottsdale and Chandler.
