About Kid's Closet Connection:
Kid's Closet Connection is a twice yearly children's consignment sale that brings area moms together to sell their children's outgrown gently used clothing, baby furniture and equipment, toys, books etc. Consignors (moms, like you!) make 70% of the selling price and do not even have to work the sale. You just drop off your tagged items at one of our drop off days and times and we so the selling for you! It is that easy!
It is so important in today's society that we learn to recycle our resources including our outgrown children's items, that are otherwise in great condition. These sales have given our community a way to help the environment by making money while selling your children's outgrown items and in turn, purchase nearly new items in great condition at prices drastically less than retail.
In addition, Kid's Closet Connection's consignment sales make a large donation of clothing and other items to local charities after the sale.
Join in the fun either as a consignor, shopper or both! Check out our volunteer opportunities (you do not have to be a consignor to work) and be invited to shop at the "workers presale" before anyone else gets to shop! Whether you are a buyer, seller or both, Kid's Closet offers a unique opportunity to make money on your children's outgrown clothing, and in turn purchase quality kid's items in great condition. Also, check out our new Franchise Opportunities.
**Safety is important to us and we do our best to keep abreast of recent recalls. Kid's Closet sales will make available lead kits for shoppers concerned about possible lead content for a nominal fee. We will also have a binder of children toy, equipment recalls available at the checkout.
Sharon Smitka- OwnerI received a Bachelor of Science-Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Upon graduation, I worked for a large retail department store for two years. This made me realize the importance of customer service. Taking care of your customers and providing the best service is crucial for any business to succeed. Happy customers are sure to keep coming back and will pass along positive comments to their friends about what a great company you are.
After working for a few years, I decided I wanted to pursue a marketing career. I received a Masters in Business Administration- Direct Marketing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I learned in order to maximize profit, you must successfully target your marketing efforts to those consumers who will most likely benefit from the goods or services you are providing. Upon graduation, I went to work for the largest direct marketing company located in Dallas, TX. I worked with many large national clients on their marketing campaigns.
I eventually decided to be a stay-at-home mom and raise my two daughters, Stephanie and Samantha. With only one income, I realized the importance of value. Children out grow their clothing so fast and having a garage sale was time consuming and you only earned pennies on the dollar for your children's name brand gently used clothing. This is when I decided to start a children's consignment sale in the Kansas City area. I knew this was a great way for area moms in the community to make good money on their children's outgrown clothing and in turn purchase gently used items in great condition for their children. With my background in retail, direct marketing, and being a stay-at-home mom it was a perfect opportunity.
I currently own the Lenexa sale and Kid's Closet Connection. Please contact me at the following information if you are interested in starting a franchise of your own.
